The Subaru BRZ, renowned for its nimble and spirited driving characteristics, is now making its debut in the Italian market. To commemorate this arrival, Subaru is launching a special edition of the BRZ called the "BRZ Touge," a nod to the legendary mountain passes in Japan where automotive enthusiasts have tested the limits of their vehicles for generations.

The term "touge" translates to "mountain pass" in Japanese, and Japan boasts numerous twisty, challenging roads of this kind. These mountain passes have long been the setting for unofficial tests of automotive performance, where drivers would engage in "touge battles," racing up and down these winding roads, eventually giving birth to the art of drifting.
Features and Styling of the BRZ Touge Special Edition
The BRZ Touge edition offers several distinctive features not found on the standard BRZ, and these additions have Italian origins. The vehicle is painted in Subaru's signature blue metallic paint and fitted with striking 18-inch OZ Racing Ultraleggera gold alloy wheels, weighing in at 19 pounds each. This package includes a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity, a numbered leather key ring, an exclusive shift knob, and a numbered car cover.

The BRZ Touge special edition is priced at approximately the euro equivalent of $52,400, signifying a substantial increase from the U.S.-market BRZ's starting price of $29,615, including the destination charge. This pricing disparity is largely influenced by the unique characteristics and preferences of the local Italian market.
